"The giver" quick writes 1-10
Over the course of reading "The giver," students will be tasked with a series of 'quick write' activities to get them thinking deeper about some of the narrative themes presented by the author. each quick write should be about half a page (2-3 paragraphs) and should be completed in a 10-15 minute TIME FRAME. This kind of writing is designed to capture raw emotions and immediate reactions to ideas, which is sometimes the most authentic way of expressing ourselves. Students need to complete each quick write (total of 10) and be ready to submit them to Mr. smith when they return to class.
